Our music offering this week is from our supply organist, Jeremiah Meade. Jerry is a 4th year student of Paul Jacobs at Julliard , and this recording was made for an end of year Jury at the Cathedral of St Joseph in Hartford.

The piece, the Finale from Symphony 1, is by Louis Vierne who was the organist of Notre Dame in Paris for nearly 30 years. It’s a French toccata with a pedal melody. Vierne, who was nearly blind from congenital cataracts, died while seated on the organ bench giving his 1,750 the organ recital at Notre Dame.

We thank Jerry for this and all the music he brings to us. We are truly blessed to have him. We try to offer a variety of prerecorded music each week, and if you have something you would like to share, or if you would like to participate in an anthem, please email me. Everyone is welcome; all recordings are done from home online.

This was fabulous a great piece played by a great organist! I’ve saved it to listen again. I wish that was our organ!!!
