Led by Brad Neary and The Rev. Kate Wesch

Monday, February 21, from 9:00-10:30 a.m. in the Parish Hall

“And his clothes became dazzling white, such as no one on earth could bleach them. And there appeared to them Elijah with Moses, who were talking with Jesus.” (Mark 9:3-4)

How does this illumination compare to the way you imagine the Transfiguration?

This Bible study is a very special opportunity to get up close with The Saint John’s Bible as we look at the readings for the following Sunday, February 27, and talk about the Feast of the Transfiguration. This unique Bible invites us to enter scripture in new ways, drawing not only on the text but also the artwork of this edition. Look at this image (even more striking in person!) and consider the face of Christ. “Both present and absent, dazzling but piercing us with his gaze, what do you make of this vision of God’s Son?”

During our time together, we will learn more about this special Bible as well as reflect on scripture and art through the story of the Transfiguration of Christ.
