Witness Stones Memorial Following the Service
Join us for a meaningful Sunday as we honor the story of Frank, an enslaved man, seaman, and shipyard worker whose voice has long been unheard. At 9 a.m. in the Parish Hall, Jim Myslik and Anthony Pandolfe Jr. will lead a forum. The 10:15 a.m. service will feature the remarkable music of Sawney Freeman, likely America’s first published Black composer. Following the service, we will lay another Witness Stone at St. John’s, reaffirming our dedication to preserving and honoring these crucial stories.
This event will also spotlight Unforgotten: Connecticut’s Hidden History of Slavery, a powerful series from Connecticut Public inspired by the research and discoveries at St. John’s.
