Pentecost Sunday
Sunday, June 8 | 8:00 a.m. and 10:15 a.m. services
Pentecost is almost here, and St. John’s is filled with joyful anticipation as we prepare to celebrate the gift of the Holy Spirit. Throughout most of the season, the beautiful Pentecost Dove mobile will be displayed in front of the chancel—a powerful visual reminder that the Spirit is present and moving among us.
This sacred day commemorates the moment the Holy Spirit descended upon the early followers of Jesus, rushing in like a mighty wind and igniting hearts with tongues of flame. Often called the “birthday of the Church,” Pentecost calls us to gather in community, to be renewed, and to rejoice in the Spirit’s presence and power.
Join us for worship—and don’t forget to wear red as a symbol of the Spirit’s fire!
